About the Role
The Youth & Women's Health Nurse plays an important role in improving health outcomes and quality of life for women across their lifespan and young people aged 12-25 years.
Working within a social model of health framework and as part of IPC Health's Sexual and Reproductive Health Hub, you will deliver high-quality cervical screening, sexual and reproductive health services, health education and preventative health initiatives to support individuals and communities to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing cervical screening, client education, follow up, recall management and referral for treatment in accordance with national guidelines.
- Delivering sexual and reproductive health assessments, education and support.
- Providing pregnancy choices counselling, including MTOP assessment, counselling, coordination and follow up.
- Delivering contraceptive counselling, including Implanon insertion and removal.
- Conducting continence assessments and CAPS funding applications.
- Providing perimenopause and menopause assessment, education and support.
- Undertaking comprehensive, holistic assessments incorporating physical, mental and social wellbeing, including family violence screening.
- Providing health promotion and education to community members, schools, community organisations and outreach partners.
- Supporting service planning, quality improvement activities, research projects and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation, reports and service data.
About You
You are a passionate and experienced nurse who is committed to improving access to women's health and sexual and reproductive health services. You enjoy working collaboratively with clients, communities and multidisciplinary teams while confidently managing your own clinical caseload.
You will bring:
- Strong clinical knowledge of women's health and sexual and reproductive health services.
- A commitment to health equity and the social determinants of health.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the health and community services sector.
- Experience delivering health promotion and community education programs.

To Succeed, You Will Need
- Current Division 1 Nursing registration with AHPRA.
- Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Women's Health, or a related discipline.
- Current accreditation and credentialing as a Cervical Screening Provider (RCNA or equivalent).
- Experience working with young people aged 12-25 years.
- Completion of MTOP counselling training through Sexual Health Victoria, or willingness to work towards.
- Completion of Implanon training through Sexual Health Victoria, or willingness to work towards.
- Minimum two years' experience, preferably within community health or a community-based setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively across the full spectrum of health and welfare services.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
